Hi, my name is Sami. I am a cptsd survivor raised in a multi cultural background. On my journey to healing I discovered that it wasn’t one single discipline, but where disciplines intersected, that i found the most access to my inner workings and ability to heal. Since 2017 I have trained in movement healing modalities, trauma-informed facilitation, sexual-trauma-survivor advocacy, and nervous system healing, integrating pieces from each into my holistic approach to healing. I have also trained as an ancestral channel within my own family lineage, as well as two other sacred-shamic lineages to be able to offer this sacred art. I am not a guru, but rather a guide, and my approach will never tell you how to heal, but offer you tools to discover the healer within. As a descendant of a sacred-art lineage in the modern world, its imperative to me that integrity practices and trauma informed facilitation are paired alongside these modalities to offer space to challenge the power-dynamics and abuse that has plagued facilitation spaces. All of my practices are rooted in consent, respect, and equality, understanding that safety is earned through transparency, consistency, and truth.
I began my studies as a movement practitioner, working in injury recovery and human movement science. However, familiarizing myself deeply with the wisdom of the body showed me the pieces that were missing. My studies in the body taught me how trauma and stress manifest as movement dysfunction, and how emotion and somatic responses are stored in the fascia. My approach to injury recovery and training were rooted in integrative healing, finding the somatic cause, response, or reaction within the physical ailment, and healing through the spiritual, emotional, and physical realms simultaneously. Through working with the body I understood the value of grounded and earth-based practices, giving balance to our often mind-oriented selves. Understanding that injury and movement recovery were broader than just the physical, I began studying the nervous system, and trauma and somatic informed trainings. As I was learning the ins and outs of trauma in the physical world, i was also training as a channel in the sacred and spiritual realms of the unseen, which provided context as to the spiritual disorientation caused by trauma, and how there was truly no difference between spiritual and energetic maladies and their physical manifestations. Frustrated by the gaps that still remainedI also turned to the Mayan lineage for guidance with the organs, as an often disregarded portion of the body in the holistic approach to healing. I learned abdominal massage, how to reposition the organs for optimal function, and how energy and emotion stored in our organs, creating long term dysfunction as well as disease. These studies also places emphasis on the reproductive and sexual organs, specifically cycle maladies in women, and stored trauma in the pelvic floor, cervix, and vaginal wall. I now combine all attributes when I teach, as I see each part reflecting a different element, and the integrity and balance of the elements in symbiosis as a true reflection of health.
